elysrei (pronounced “ee-liss-ray”) is a Singaporean alternative singer-songwriter making music through cinematic arrangements built around live instrumentation.
Tracked live in Nashville, her 2025 debut single, “Is There Really Nothing You Miss?”, pairs pedal steel and double bass with a mocking kazoo, turning apparent longing into contempt. The single reached No. 29 on Savannah Soundings at WRUU 107.5 FM in the United States.
Her second single, “Be My Muse”, followed in 2026. Led by piano, vintage organ and strings, the song paints a tender portrait of steady love with an underlying longing for a love she'd never experienced. Its cinematic music video was filmed in Bangkok by an all-Thai production crew.
Fully independent, elysrei has presented original sets at Breaking Sound Singapore and other independent events, alongside professional full-band performances at Singapore’s Esplanade. Her live shows are centred on voice, live arrangements and storytelling, inviting listeners to see themselves in the music.
